Train to teach with us
The University of Brighton Academies Trust is committed to making a difference to the children in our region. To do that, we need outstanding teachers.
Our secondary School Direct Training programme, for those wishing to qualify as a secondary school teacher, is based in our academies in Hastings, St Leonards and Burgess Hill. Trainee teachers gain valuable in-school teaching experience, and graduate with a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) and qualified teacher status (QTS) in partnership with the University of Brighton.
Our primary School Direct programme, for those wishing to qualify as a primary school teacher, is delivered through the East Sussex Teacher Training Partnership School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT), led by the Robsack Wood Teaching School Alliance. Trainee teachers gain valuable in-school teaching experience, and graduate with qualified teacher status (QTS).
Our Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship programme is for existing employees of the University of Brighton Academies Trust and is designed for experienced professionals and graduates aspiring to become a primary or secondary school teacher. The Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship blends on-the-job school-based training with part-time university study. Trainee teachers graduate with qualified teacher status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in partnership with the University of Brighton.
