The University of Brighton Academies Trust is pleased to announce that Amy Watson has been appointed as permanent Principal of Pound Hill Infant Academy and its teaching school alliance, The Southern Collaborative Learning Partnership Alliance.

Currently Head of School at Pound Hill working alongside Executive Principal Julie Knock, Ms Watson will take up her new role from 1 September 2018.

On her appointment Ms Watson said: “I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to lead Pound Hill Infant Academy. I joined Pound Hill as a newly qualified teacher, developing from a class teacher through to Head of School. I have seen our Academy make incredible progress over the past 18 years and I am immensely proud of what we have achieved. I very much look forward to continuing to work with our pupils, parents/carers and staff to deliver the best possible education for our community.”

Dr John Smith, the Trust’s Chief Executive, said: “As Head of School Ms Watson has contributed to the Pound Hill’s exceptional leadership team. Her appointment as permanent Principal is extremely pleasing because it is important to the Trust to support dedicated members of staff, such as Ms Watson, as they progress their teaching careers.”
