Trust celebrates inspirational students and staff
28 September 2018
On Tuesday 11 September, 31 students and staff from the University of Brighton Academies Trust gathered with colleagues, friends and family to celebrate the outstanding contribution they have made to their academies.
Held at the University of Brighton’s Falmer campus, the event brought together students and staff from the Trust’s network of 15 academy schools in Sussex.
Academy Principals spoke passionately about students who have; shown remarkable kindness and been role models to their peers, embodied their academy’s core values, and worked tirelessly and with great enthusiasm throughout the 2017/18 academic year.
Staff from a range of roles were commended. All have gone ‘above and beyond’ in their roles, united by their positivity and ability to make a difference to the day-to-day lives of their academy’s students.
Dr John Smith, Chief Executive of the Trust called the event an ‘important and inspiring occasion’. He told the audience: “We have an amazing community. I am so proud of our staff, our students and their parents and carers – it is your achievements and contribution that make our academies special places to learn and work”.
He thanked the University of Brighton’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Debra Humphris and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Chris Pole for the University’s continued support and sponsorship of the Trust: “the University’s sponsorship of the Trust makes an incredible difference to so many young lives”.
